  The Peace River Aboriginal Inter-Agency Committee (AIC) is made up of representatives from various organizations and agencies across the region committed to working in partnership to reach common goals intended to strengthen the situation of Aboriginal children, families and communities.

AIC Goals:

  • Hosting Opportunities for regional residents to learn more about the lives of Aboriginal people
  • Raising Awareness of performing and visual arts representing the culture of the Aboriginal people
  • Promoting Opportunities for all youth to learn about Aboriginal Culture
  • Ensuring Access to all people in the region to a wide range of supports and services
  • Assisting regional organizations and agencies to become more knowledgeable about delivering culturally appropriate services
  • Liaising With Other Aboriginal Inter-agencies throughout North Alberta

  • Ongoing Advocacy for Aboriginal children, families and communities
  • Aboriginal Gathering and Pow-wow
  • Sister's in Spirit Walk

  • Aboriginal Caregiver Events
  • Native Studies Program Community Forums
  • Aboriginal Inter-Agency Research Project
  • Building of a Cultural Centre/Dance Arbour
